Le catalogue distingue par ailleurs les cartouches du programme de retour, dont le tarif est conditionné à la restitution de l’unité usagée, et les cartouches classiques sans engagement. Les deux portent des références différentes et ne s’achètent pas indifféremment : c’est le premier point à vérifier avant de comparer deux prix. Le rendement annoncé selon la norme ISO/IEC 19752 reste la base de tout calcul de coût à la page sur un volume donné.

Programme de retour ou cartouche classique

La première formule affiche un tarif plus bas en échange de la restitution de la cartouche vide, la seconde laisse libre. Comparer un prix de l’une à l’autre sans le savoir mène à un écart trompeuse : il faut aligner les deux devis sur la même formule.

Plusieurs rendements par modèle

Une même machine accepte généralement une capacité standard, une haute capacité et parfois une très haute capacité. Le coût à la page baisse à chaque palier ; le choix se fait sur le volume mensuel réel, relevé sur le compteur de la machine.

Ne pas oublier les kits d’entretien

Photoconducteur et unité de fusion ont leur propre durée de vie, indépendante du toner. Les inscrire au budget évite l’immobilisation d’une machine de service au plus mauvais moment.
