Consommable imprimante Brother

La particularité Brother structure tout le calcul de budget : sur les machines laser, le toner de la série TN et le tambour de la série DR sont deux pièces distinctes, aux durées de vie très différentes. Le toner se remplace au fil des pages imprimées, le tambour bien plus rarement, souvent après plusieurs toners. Ignorer cette séparation conduit à sous-estimer le coût d’un parc Brother à moyen terme, ou à changer un tambour encore valide. En jet d’encre, les cartouches de la série LC suivent la logique habituelle, avec des versions à rendement augmenté sur la plupart des références. Comme ailleurs, un code TN, DR ou LC est lié à une famille de machines précise et ne se transpose pas.

Toner, tambour : deux échéances à ne pas confondre

Le toner suit le volume imprimé

C’est la pièce qui contient la poudre. Son rendement est annoncé selon la norme ISO/IEC 19752 et existe le plus souvent en version standard et haute capacité pour une même machine.

Le tambour suit l’usure mécanique

Il transfère l’image sur le papier et se remplace après plusieurs toners. Un tambour en fin de vie se repère à des marques répétitives à intervalle régulier sur la page, pas à un manque de densité : le symptôme distingue les deux pannes et évite un remplacement inutile.

Prévoir les deux au budget

Sur un parc homogène, il est plus sûr de calculer le coût annuel en additionnant les toners consommés et la part de tambour amortie, plutôt que de raisonner sur le seul prix du toner.
